Technical editing knowledge does not have to be boring and dry. In the new podcast "Die Doku Lounge", Kerstin Berke, trainer at Quanos Content Solutions, invites interesting discussion partners to talk casually about various topics from the field of technical documentation. This makes knowledge transfer for technical writers simple, entertaining and easy to consume. The topic of the first episode of the podcast, which can be found on all common podcast platforms, is warnings. From now on, one more episode per month is planned.
The target group of the new format are technical writers and editors as well as people generally interested in technical documentation who want to acquire new knowledge without stress. "As a trainer, I know that experiences are better conveyed in dialogue. Our guest experts come from industry, the service sector, universities or even directly from Quanos Content Solutions," moderator Kerstin Berke explains the new format. "In conversation with me, they chat out of the sewing box, report on current tips and trends and turn dull specialist topics into exciting stories. The Doku-Lounge is thus a kind of knowledge-to-go format about technical documentation."
Each episode of the podcast deals with a specific discipline of technical writing. The focus is on the expertise of the invited experts as well as on giving impulses to better master challenges in technical documentation. "There are many sources of information on technical documentation, but often the content is densely packed, textual and exhausting. Who does that to themselves after a day's work?" explains Philipp Eng, Marketing Manager at Quanos Content Solutions, his motivations for creating the new podcast. "We therefore thought: there has to be another way. Our goal with 'The Docu-Lounge' is to make further education possible virtually on the side. The listener can then tune in when it suits him best and always acquire the latest knowledge in an informal atmosphere." With its podcast, the company also wants to clear up dusty perceptions about technical editing and instead show how great the potential of product information is.
Currently, episodes are planned on the following topics: "Artificial intelligence in technical documentation", "Single source of truth - reuse of data" and "Using editorial systems sensibly in software documentation". Listeners who would like to delve deeper are also provided with additional content such as webinars, blog articles and white papers.
