Spare parts catalogue is now standard for Rapida presses. Over 1,000 press-specific catalogues have been delivered with the presses to date. In the meantime spare parts can be ordered not only by telephone or via PC and laptop, but also directly from the press via tablet and smartphone.
2007 saw the birth of the electronic spare parts catalogue (eETK) at Koenig & Bauer. The first customer at that time was from the Ukraine. Initially the eETK was available in medium format. It was subsequently optimised again and again and today all medium- and large-format presses produced at Koenig & Bauer Sheetfed in Radebeul are supplied with their press-specific eETK.
What distinguishes the eETK? Spare parts can be searched for via a visually appealing user interface. Navigation is intuitive via active images with hotspot functions. Starting with the entire machine, the user finds the required spare part via units and assemblies. This is placed in the shopping basket and the order is sent as a request. The handling is similar to what we are used to from online mail order on the internet. Each order is generated as an e-mail (alternatively as a fax) and forwarded to the relevant Koenig & Bauer branch for processing.
Once the request has been received, the customer receives a quotation as soon as possible. The eETK is easy to use. Another advantage is that it corresponds 100 per cent to the machine parts list and is thus absolutely machine-specific. Incorrect deliveries are thus minimised. Furthermore, machine-specific lists can be generated, e.g. for wear parts and consumables.
When the press is delivered, the user receives the complete press documentation and an "online access" letter for access to the Koenig & Bauer customer portal with internet address, login and password. The paper catalogue is now a thing of the past. The eETK is provided via the internet through the portal, which has the functionality of a "cloud" and will play an even greater role in communication with the user in future. The digital form of the eETK enables another advantage - up-to-dateness. When changes are made to the machine, the spare parts catalogue is updated, regenerated and made available online via the customer portal. Thus, the user has access to his current spare parts catalogue at any time.
The electronic spare parts catalogue works platform-independently on desktop computers and mobile devices. Rapida users can search for and order spare parts in the eETK directly at the press with a tablet.
The eETK has made the spare parts ordering process more stable and reliable. In addition, the user also benefits from the ease of updating. In the foreseeable future, apps that communicate digitally with the press will offer even more opportunities to simplify and speed up work processes.
